IPOD CLASSIC not compatible

I could not get this docking station to transmit video to my 42″Panasonic TV so I got a TV engineer out to try. he checked the cables were ok and the TV ports were ok so the fault had to be with the docking station. The Amazon supplier was asked to advise. Their reply was that the docking station was not intended for such transmission. I replied that the Amazon advert stated it did as did page 11 of the instruction manual which even had a diagram of the connection to the TV.They then advised that the the ipod classic will not allow TV out. The VIVO dock has been binned and my BOSE put back in it’s place.IF YOU HAVE AN IPOD CLASSIC DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT AS THE COMPATIBLE IPODS IS WRONG.
