I was sent a faulty mount and charger the first time I got this, a quick exchange and I was in the money.
The suction mount is VERY strong, it feels like you could climb with this thing.
The charger has a curly cable, so it extends to where you need to get it.
Its long/stretchy enough to have the mount on the right hand side of your windscreen, while it charger from the cigarette lighter.
The mount has a slot at the bottom so you can charge the iphone while connected.
Work no probs on my 16GB iphone 3G.
The mount rotates left and right so you can slide the phone out quickly.
It will not work if you phone has a case.
The mount has a knob you loosen at the back so you can angle the phone towards you etc.

This accessory is great for the iPhone. It’s study and very adjustable to move exactly how you want it. Thumbs up from me.
Great Alternative to the Expensive Tom Tom iPhone Harness

For the price, this is a great piece of kit. The iPhone fits fine (though I haven’t tried it with a case on, I think you’d need to remove it before slotting it into the holder). The sucker sticks to the windscreen rigidly even if sometimes it takes a few goes to get it to adhere. I find cleaning the screen with a tissue first helps and it’s harder to stick it if the glass is very cold. Once stuck, it won’t come away unless you need it to.
The Tom Tom car holder costs around £100 and is stronger in build and has built in speakers and amplifier. However, I find that the volume from the iPhone’s inbuilt speakers are enough unless you have your music blaring away whilst navigating…
Only criticisms are the the wire on the charger could be longer. In my car, which has a narrow dash board, it’s fine, but in my wife’s VW Touran, the dash is quite wide and the 12v socket is down by the gearstick. This stretches the cable to it’s limit and puts a bit of pressure on the plug where it slots into the iPhone. Also, the arm securing it to the windscreen isn’t quite long enough to protrude beyond the edge of the dash board so the plug ends up not being flush with the female socket on the iPhone. A minor point as I was still able to position it so as not to put too much strain on the iPhone socket. I also stretched the curly wire straight so it doesn’t tug on the iPhone too much.
For the price, you can’t go wrong, especially if like me you only use the Tom Tom software on the iPhone occasionally.
Never worked and is now broken

I bought this item after abit of trawling on amazon. the product had promising reviews and was good value (with a charger thrown in).
Upon trying to use the product it would not stick to the window for repeated attempts. When it did finally stick it let go after around 5 minutes. Tryed the product on a few occasions until the last time, when the leaver broke off when trying to activate the suction. I would not recommend any suction windscreen mount but would rather go for a dash mat. Not tryed the charger so i don’t know if that works.

Please note: the charger does not work with my iPhone 3GS. My phone says that it does not support it. So, that aspect of this product is useless to me which is pretty frustrating, especially as these phones really do need to be charged whenever possible as the batteries run low so quickly.
The holder, however, is great. I am very impressed. It’s not as good as a properly fitted one would be of course (and I wish I could use it with the protective cover ON my iPhone rather than have to remove and replace the cover whenever I get in or out of the car) but it does its job pretty well and has certainly solved some problems for now.
Also, it arrived very quickly – the very next day after I ordered it – less than 24 hours later! Excellent service, reasonable price, so even though I can’t use 50% of what I bought, for that money it still seems like a good deal to me.

I have used other windscreen holders and you get a lot of bounce. This product overcomes this problem. I did have to clean the suction pad with detergent and heat it with hot water to get it to stick to the windscreen.

This has changed the way I both use a phone, drive and touch things. Other people seem to use this for sat nav purposes – personally, I prefer to watch films. If you’d told me 30 years ago that I could watch Timecop while driving to Chipping Sodbury, I would have looked at you in sheer bemusement for a number of reasons.
A word of warning though – it’s unsuitable for high speed pursuits. Even tackling speed bumps at a lowly 40mph is liable to leave you with a well designed piece of mangled wreckage strewn about your faux leather interior.

Secure and good value, but widescreen is not an option

This mount is extremely secure, I can’t imagine it ever losing suction and falling off – it’s that good. The inclusion of a charger is also excellent value at this price. However, I often use sat nav on my iphone, and I prefer turning the screen and viewing it in widescreen mode. This product is not designed for that, as it doesn’t stay in place and starts to slide out of the holder. To be fair, the description nor the pictures suggest any different, but I overlooked this when I ordered it.
So, if you’re happy to view your iphone in the verticle position, then this is a very good choice that you won’t be disappointed with.
