You lose the iphone sharpness

The proporta is my fourth brand of replacement screen cover, and the worst one for image quality. It’s easy to apply, but it’s not only matt – it makes the image grainy and adds a hazy feel to the screen.
The best one so far is the matt finish one that I bought from the apple shop for my 3GS. Sorry, I can’t remember the brand name
Distorts the screen too much

Would not recommend this product. The film distorts the quality of the iphone screen too much. It becomes painful to look at. The pictures and characters cease to be perfectly sharp. I did not buy the iphone to stare at a hazy screen so after 5 days I threw this protective film away.

Well it does what is says, it is easy to apply, you get two in the pack, and they will protect the screen, I have not had to change a screen yet, so that remains to be seen. But great value at this price, and so far the best on offer. super quick delivery as well. my itouch looks untouchable- ouch !

This item does not fit the screen perfectly, it’s slightly narrower,wouldn’t recommend for the Iphone

I was a little disappointed with this. The cleaning cloth that came with it was bright orange and bits of the cloth fell off and stuck to my iphone’s screen whilst I was trying to clean it so I managed to get a couple of tiny specs of orange stuck to the sticky side of the protector as I applied it.
As other reviewers said it’s not quite the right size meaning that there’s a few millimetres of gap on the sides and as such it’s difficult to get it in exactly the right place.
It makes small text on the screen a little harder to read because the matt finish of the protector actually slightly distorts the output from the phone’s screen.
However, it appears to stay pretty well stuck onto the phone without leaving any sticky residue on the screen and does the basic job of protecting your screen so it does the job but I’d prefer it if it was the correct size and if the cleaning cloth hadn’t disintegrated as I tried to use it.
If anybody has any suggestions for a better product available then I would be interested to see.
Not up to the job

As some other reviewers have pointed out, it’s really not suitable. I’ve had other iPhone screen protectors and there’s much better out there.
1) It doesn’t fit the screen neatly. There’s a margin of a couple of millimetres all the way around.
2) The cut-outs for the microphone and button go all the way to the edge, meaning there’s a portion of the screen next to each unnecessarily exposed. Other products don’t do this.

-looks like will last forever and will protect against anything
-applies easily
-doesnt impair the screens sensibility
Bads:
-kills the good looks
-does not fit the screen perfectly, it’s slightly narrower
-it has a matt finish, so if you liked it shiny, that’s gone.
I think you just need to choose between the short term looks and the long term survival of the screen. But when you are thinking about the long term survival of your good looking screen… then it gets hard to decide, thus the mid rating.

dissapointment

I purchased this product for my Iphone on the basis of the reviews on this page, and i can only assume they recieved a different product from me as each piece of protective film i recieved was dirty and impossible to clean, let alone apply to my iphone. very dissapointing. I would advise people to stay well away.

I have used various screen protectors on various PDA and similar gadgets. This was the easiest to apply, and looks the best. It has a pleasant matt finish (unfortunate if, like me, you have a greasy skin, but it wipes down reasonably well) and fits my iPhone 3G perfectly.
May I offer a tip on fitting? It’s not the stickiest of films, so it’s safe to hold it by the edges when applying. I found it went on really easily when I bent it along its longer axis and then applied the angle to the centre (top to bottom) of the screen, allowing the remainder of the film simply to apply itself.
